A FEW THINGS ABOUT THE ARTIST

1. What do you do when you’re not making art? (Day job etc...).

When I’m not improving and perfecting my art skills, I’m proudly one of many yet few female Forklift Operators for a distribution center in Georgia. In my time away from that, I’m more than likely hanging out with my family enjoying movie nights. I also very much enjoy meditating with my growing collection of stones and crystals or you can simply find me relaxing with a glass of wine listening to classic R&B.

2. Why do you make art?

Art for me and for most artists is a form of expression. It allows me to put my thoughts, feelings, and unspoken words in physical form. To see and know that I’ve created something beautiful, original, and inspiring from a completely blank canvas brings me so much satisfaction. I promise you I get butterflies every time.

3. What inspires you?

I’m inspired by everyday life and experiences. I consider myself to be an empath, I feel and I’m very passionate. The only way I can express those feelings ultimately is through my art.

4. What/who are your influences?

My aunt Theresa A. Taylor who’s also an artist has definitely been a huge influence to me. Her journey through the world of art has shown me to embrace and have faith in not only myself but my gift. The gift that I not only share with her but my grandfather. She has set the example that if I trust and have faith in what I love and in my abilities then I can’t go wrong. And I love her for that.

5. If you could meet anyone dead or alive who would it be?

I would like to meet one of my favorite authors who Maya Angelou. I would ask her to read her autobiography “I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings” with me.
